Full Coverage Color

I had faded Vibrant Pink and Vibrant Orange hair. It was very peachy. I was afraid I'd have to use bleach again, as I have naturally black hair, to remove this peachy color. I went for it, and used even mixture of Pastel Purple and Pastel Blue on dry hair. I left it on for 30 minutes and it completely covered up the orange! It's been exactly a month since I've done it and it's fading to a lovely silvery purple/blue. It's such a unique color and I get so many compliments from strangers!

Love the color needs lots of dye

I love the color, even though it's not as blue toned as I would like it. Compares to other overtone (I previously had rose gold and the indigo kit) this kit takes way more dye to coat my hair. With all the dye I used I still have some spotty areas.

Colors are pretty good

I mixed them together and it was okay. I prefer to used them separately all one color or like an "ombre" effect. They don't mix very well as the demarcation like between pastel purple and pastel blue are not gradient and turn a dark greyish color. Not extremely noticable and I do love the colors, but just know that if you put roots one color and another color on the tips, the color where they overlap won't be a smooth transition. Also, I put this on dry hair so you can see it better. Before I would put on wet hair but 1)the color doesn't stay as well 2) it isn't even. But, beware, if you put it on dry hair it uses WAAAAAAAAY more conditioner and hardens quick. It might be easier to use with a brush than just your hands and a comb. Don'tforget to get the bottom side too! Another thing to be careful of is that heat tools burn off the color easily so i usually blow dry or curly, so if the color comes off, it's not extremely noticable. Otherwise, the pastel colors are beautiful and I get a lot of compliments on my hair.

Do you lilac it?

Lilac has always been my favorite color. And overtone did not disappoint. I followed the recommendation of a fellow overtoner who suggested using a bit more blue than the purple to create a lilac color. Mine turned my periwinkle since I had a pastel purple base. But each wash it’d come out a little different considering I was hand measuring out the product. But I was never disappointed with the colors!

In color heaven

I recommend Overtone to everyone I know. The system is easy, not terribly expensive, and so good for my hair. I’ve never been so happy with my color!
