Ideal for blonde, pre-lightened, or lighter brown hair, it delivers a saturated violet hue that lasts about 2β3 weeks or up to 10 washes, then fades gradually and evenly.
This semi-permanent, deposit-only formula creates vivid, true purple color on lighter bases and a softer, cool-toned tint on darker hair. For the boldest, most vibrant violet results, you will need to bleach (pre-lighten) hair prior to applying. On blonde or pre-lightened hair, Vivid Violet appears as a bright, true purple with rich blue-violet undertones. On light to medium brown hair, it creates a deeper, more muted violet overlay. I've been using this product for several years now in the extreme purple and extreme blue on my mid to dark brown hair. I love the color tint it gives to my hair and I get compliments on it all the time. I've tried another brand and that brand just does not last as long as Overtone....I use the deep conditioner once every 3 weeks or so and that keeps my color going strong. Plus, it does condition my hair and makes it feel fuller and softer.

My hair is pitch black but I really wanted purple. My hairdresser told me that bleaching my whole hair could damage it a lot. So what she did was give me some highlights that turned out caramel color. She suggested overtone to me. I added this vivid violet and it stuck so well my highlights.
