Ideal for blonde, pre-lightened, or lighter brown hair, it delivers a diffused desert rose hue that lasts about 2–3 weeks or up to 10 washes, then fades gradually and evenly.*
This semi-permanent, deposit-only formula creates a subtle, dusty pink tone on lighter bases and a soft rosy tint on darker hair. For the most visible, true-to-tone desert rose results, hair should be pre-lightened (bleached) to a light blonde before applying. On blonde or pre-lightened hair, Desert Rose appears as a muted pink with warm, earthy undertones for a natural, sun-washed finish. On darker blonde hair, it creates a soft blush tint. On light to medium brown hair, it delivers a very subtle rosy overlay. On darker hair, results will be minimal primarily enhancing shine with a faint warm reflect rather than creating a noticeable color change.
Color appears soft, diffused, and naturally dimensional never overly bright and fades into delicate warm pink tones over time for a lived-in, effortless finish.

Works incredibly well to give overall color and coverage. Easy to use, and helps extend the life of my color beyond what I would have expected. I have been using overtone now for several years, initially to keep the hair from my shoulders to my lower back a vibrant purple color - and now I have been using the rose gold/desert gold color for well over a year now. It has not dried my hair out whatsoever, and in fact, keeps it healthy and moisturized throughout use. I recently picked up the hydrating shampoo as well and love it just as much.

Darker browns, beware. This is the perfect smelling long lasting nice conditioner, but I didn't get pigmented. My fault. I am trying a color for brown hair now.
