I honestly did not expect to love this as much as I do.
I bought Overtone in Cherry Chestnut thinking it would lean more cherry red. On my hair it actually came out with a gorgeous rich berry tone that has a hint of purple, and to my surprise, I like it even more. The color is dimensional, vibrant without looking unnatural, and catches the light beautifully.
The biggest surprise wasn't even the color. My hair has been through cancer treatment, so it's fine, damaged, and definitely not as full as it used to be. After using Cherry Chestnut, my hair feels incredibly soft, looks noticeably glossier, and somehow even appears thicker and fuller. It doesn't just add color, it makes my hair look healthier overall.
Then came the real test. I put it on my 88-year-old mother's hair, and now she's obsessed too! Her hair looked shinier, softer, and had so much more life. We both kept looking at each other saying, "Why does our hair look so good?"
I've tried plenty of products that promise healthier-looking hair, but this is one of the few that actually made an immediate visible difference while giving me a color I genuinely love.
Cherry Chestnut has officially earned a permanent place in my bathroom. I bought it for the color, but I keep reaching for it because of what it does for the health and appearance of my hair.

was perfect on my red hair!
i’m not sure anyone will have this same situation, but wanted to share in case it does help someone!
i have been using revlon cherry red box dye on my hair for a while (i know, not great but finances ya know?) i purchased hair extensions in a natural red and used the dye on both my hair and the extensions. the extensions ended up with a much darker hue than my real hair, so i purchased the cherry chestnut overtone to use on my real hair and try to make them match. one use of cherry chestnut and it added the exact amount of purple and red depth i needed to match my extensions.
highly recommend you wear gloves, my hands are dark purple.
