Makes maintenance easy, I add it on top of already dyed green/emerald hair, and this helps to have less salon visits or dyeing at home - definitely use gloves with this but you dont necessarily need vaseline to protect the skin around your face, but only if you wipe/wash the color off quickly.

I have a lot of gray hair and am not interested in pre-bleaching my hair so I went into this knowing it may not work well. But I really like the soft colorful highlights I ended up with. It would be really pretty if I had the patience to do rainbows! I got the teal conditioner because I didn't see any emerald conditioner so I'll see if that changes the color any. It does already look a bit more blue than green so maybe I should try the yellow conditioner too. Looking forward to playing around with different colors. It's nice that it doesn't stink up the bathroom with chemical smells! Definitely makes me want to use it more.
