When it comes to getting the most out of your oVertone experience, there is one incredibly important step you need to take: SATURATE!
Whether you are applying Daily Conditioner or the Deep Treatment, it is important to completely soak your strands. This way, the conditioner will get a chance to evenly deposit color and your hair will be able to soak up as much pigment as possible.
When applying, you can start with wet or dry hair (dry hair will give you a brighter result). It helps to look in the mirror during this step, so you can make sure all of your hair is covered. Starting at your roots and working your way down your hair is an effective way to saturate your strands completely. However you go about applying, make sure your hair is totally covered in oVertone!
If you have heaps long hair, it may help to section out your hair and apply the color to each part separately. This will also help to make sure your hair is totally saturated.
Once your hair is soaked in conditioner, leave it on your head for 5-15 minutes. The best part? When you’re ready to rinse, don’t be afraid of hot water. Hot water actually helps our products work better by opening up your hair cuticle a little.
After you rinse out oVertone, your hair should have soaked up most of the color, so the conditioner should rinse mostly clear. While your hair is wet it’s possible that you might see some color transfer onto towels and light colored shirts, but once it’s dry you shouldn’t see it transfer unless you’re rubbing your head against something for 8 hours. Same goes for being caught in the rain – once your hair is wet you could potentially see a little transfer if you haven’t rinsed out the conditioner fully, but even then, it’s rather unlikely.
This model used Extreme Purple, and even in chlorinated pool water there was no color leakage!
