In her poem Lifelights, Christine exquisitely describes her ongoing hair journey embracing her grays and capturing the essence of expressing her true self through hair and color.

Every once in awhile someone comments on my grays,

like today

when someone I haven’t seen in awhile mentioned how many have come to stay.

I don’t mind.

I call them my lifelights.

They are a part of me I don’t ever want to hide.

Let them show

that I have lived.

Let them know

that I have loved,

Let them know

That I may still have fears

Let them show that most of all

I’m still here.

Maybe there’s a little more salt in this pepper,
