This semi-permanent, deposit-only formula enhances depth on darker bases and adds dramatic richness and shine without looking flat. On lighter brown hair, Black Velvet appears as a deep, soft black with subtle dimension. On dark brown hair, it intensifies your base to a richer, near-black finish.     Better results than I expected!

    I ordered this and combined it with the expresso brown (sometimes alternating). Please understand that I had bright white roots on more than half my hair on top. I was only expecting to be able to mute it into a dark grey. Instead, I got a fair amount of coverage as you can see from my photo. This is after using it for at least two weeks, but also with going in pool chorine 4-5 days a week. I imagine if I wasn't a swimmer the coverage would be even better.

    I've never attempted anything fancier than one color all over but decided to give fox tips a shot. It was so easy to apply and stayed black for the first couple days before fading to a dark reddish brown color.
