Watch: Mix and Match for a Perfect Copper Shade
Have you ever wanted to change your hair color but couldn’t find the perfect shade? You go down the Pinterest, TikTok, and Insta rabbit hole thinking, “I love that color, but it’s too light,” or “I love that color, but it’s too red — I wish I could have a bit of that red, just a little darker.”
Plot twist. You can.
We formulated oVertone Coloring Conditioners to be mixed, matched, and blended. It’s your hair, your choice! Because what’s the point in taking the color plunge if you can’t call the shots and fine-tune your pigment if it needs a few tweaks along the way?
Watch @katieiswinnen take her color to the next level by blending Ginger , Golden Brown , and Extreme Red to create an eye-catching copper hue. Are you ready to add a little oomph of warmth and vibrancy to your look? Let’s go!
BEFORE YOU BEGIN, DO A STRAND TEST
We recommend doing a strand test if you’re trying to mix and match oVertone Coloring Conditioners to find your perfect color. Doing this is essential for avoiding color-science mistakes and achieving your desired shade.
@katieiswinnen did five-strand tests, trying some colors by themselves and mixing others to find her ideal hue.
“This is such an experiment!” — @katieiswinnen
Once her strand tests were dry, @katieiswinnen could see the true colors from the pigment and choose the shade closest to her dream color.
LET'S GET COLORING:
STEP 01: Section off dry hair — @katieiswinnen clipped the top layer and focused on the bottom layer to start working her way up to the crown. This method is perfect for her thick, long, beautiful locks.
STEP 02: Apply color to small sections of hair, starting at the roots and working your way to the ends. Make sure hair is drenched with conditioner for even color coverage.
STEP 03: Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 04: Wash, style, reveal. And most importantly, enjoy the results.
We want your coloring experience to fit your taste and for you to have the ability to dictate your hair color's tone, hue, and vibrancy. After @katieiswinnen washed out the initial color, she wasn’t completely satisfied with the results — so she took color into her own hands and went back over her hair with Golden Brown , which resulted in a perfect fiery, Auburn-red finish.
“Once again, I could not be happier!” — @katieiswinnen
