Great for maintaining my ginger but it needs to be left on hair to soak longer than anticipated

I dye my natural dark blonde hair to a semi-natural shade of coppery ginger and though I don't have the common red hair fading quickly issues (my red sticks around for a while), after 6-ish weeks I've lost a lot of the warm tones and my hair takes on a much cooler ginger hue and loses maybe a level in shade. I always wait close to 9 weeks to color my roots as the level and tone aren't so dissimilar to my red that it looks too bad, so I need something in those last 3-4 weeks to keep my color looking fresh instead of drab and dull. Vibrant Orange adds the perfect hue of orange back to my color. Not too pale, not too dark, and though it's an unnatural orange in the bottle it repigments enough to look natural over my pre-colored base.

My only complaints are that it definitely has to be left a lot longer than the directions say to, at least on me. I have to leave mine on for close to 20 minutes to get a noticeable deposit of color. 5 minutes like the bottle suggests didn't deposit any pigment on my hair at all. It's definitely not an issue of compromised hair integrety either as mine is only ever lifted with 10 volume to break the base and colored with deposit only dyes. Still, it does go on super even and never patchy or streaky like my DIY deposit conditioners do so I guess it balances out. My other gripe is a very minor one, but I'm a little bummed about the inclusion of amodimethicone in the ingredients. I have curly hair and as such subscribe to the CG method which means …

Not the color I expected, but I love it!

I used Overtone all the time, and rave about it to anyone who wants to use fun colors in their hair. My hair is a light ashy blonde, that I dye to be a bright golden blonde. Then I used the vibrant orange as a daily conditioner. Most of my hair is just more like strawberry blonde, which I love, but some streaks are like a coral. I get a ton of compliments on my "choice to dye it with the coral highlights". Haha! Happy accident! I will keep raving about and using Overtone in general for sure!
