Did not meet expectations
My review on Overtone bright red.
I was gifted a $50 giftcard from my amazingly sweet mother Debbie Leeper. I found a set for around the same amount on their site. I had to pay a bit extra and shipping. Everything on their site looked good. I went with bright red...there really are no vivid dark options and now I know why.
The packaging is nice and hip..whatever...give me the pigment. 50 dollar in I want thick, 100 percent pigment.
That isn't this...you pay for some pigment mixed in with conditioning cream, which dulls the pigment out and is probably cheaper to produce. I can condition my own hair...give me the color! I opened the weekly treatment and I don't see a beautiful primary red....I see a tomato orange paste...my heart sank a little...we all know that orange base reds come out orange not red....
I thought there was still hope so I got everything all mixed up on my freshly bleached and dried blonde roots. I let it set for an hour, which should be plenty of time for color to set in.
I washed my hair and the rinse is orange....I am scared...there isn't alot of color rinsing out but that is probably because there wasn't alot of color in the cream to begin with...
I dry my hair and sure as shit my hair is orange...my roots are orange...the tips of my hair look a bit more red because I had pink in them before bleaching...
This is a total shame because I was excited to try a new brand. This is a complete let down, I didn't want tomato orange, I wanted red.
